You’re buying a place with security devices
A new house may come with an existing security system. All the devices work, are hung in the best spaces, and are ready to go. In this example, just turn on the phone to call and set up a new monitoring contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to make sure there are no usability problems, and they may offer options on an upgrade or two. It's a preliminary appointment, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new components -- unless you add on.
The old owners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer fee to make the process easier. If the owners are moving to a condo or retirement community, turning over the Vivint contract may be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your existing devices with you
You may need to take your existing Vivint system with you to a new home when you move. That’s fairly simple to do, as most smart devices are portable. You can uninstall each device by yourself or use a professional installer to come and dismantle the system. Then our installers will set up the same devices -- and any smart services you need to add -- in the new place. Your home security contract will keep the same.
